O desenvolvimento urbano em Uberaba está acelerado nesses últimos anos. A cidade está sendo reestruturada em diferentes instancias. Os investimentos vindos do Governo Federal têm aumentado significativamente para os municípios. E, nós cidadãos, temos de alguma forma fiscalizar os investimentos que estão sendo gastos com esses recursos. A cidade precisa de melhorias na saúde, educação, transporte, moradia, saneamento básico e melhor aproveitamento e reciclagem do lixo produzido na cidade, dentre outros aspectos.
Observemos as ruas de nossa cidade, cujo transito tem sido modificado atendendo as necessidades da população. Por outro lado a quantidade de verde que tem aumentado nas diversas ruas e praças da cidade. Os coqueiros ainda continuam em algumas avenidas principais, mas precisamos preservar mais o patrimônio ambiental. Não adianta termos mais verde e sem água para conservar as plantas. Os coqueiros de nossa cidade estão secos por falta de água. A preservação das praças também está precisando de um pouco de água nesse período de seca e vento. A população precisa fiscalizar e ajudar a conservar o espaço natural que está perto de sua residência ou pelo menos, na calçada de sua residência. A união de todos faz com que as mudanças e a preservação da vida no planeta sejam sustentáveis e depende de todo cidadão planetário essa conscientização. Todavia não podemos tirar também a responsabilidade do município com relação a preservação ambiental. A cidade precisa de água para sobreviver e as plantas também. Não adianta plantar coqueiro e arvores sem poder alimentá-las.
Por outro lado, os impostos que pagamos precisam ser utilizados a favor da própria cidade e do seu desenvolvimento urbano. O cidadão merece uma melhoria na qualidade de vida. Merece respeito e tem direito de opinar nas melhorias da cidade.
Vocês já observaram a implementação do projeto de revitalização urbana que estão fazendo na cidade destinada ao transporte coletivo de Uberaba e o gasto que está sendo investido nesse projeto? A população está acompanhando os passos do projeto e estão atentos ao trabalho que está sendo executado.
Outra questão importante que sendo questionado pelos cidadãos é com referencia ao Hospital Municipal. Ou seja, sua localização no espaço geográfico em que se pretende construí-lo. Será que aquele local perto do cemitério São João Batista seria o ideal? Ou seria mais um interesse político-administrativo? Temos que pesquisar mais sobre o espaço. Não podemos nos deter apenas em uma analise técnica, mas em dados científicos e reais da realidade. Já que temos trago grandes nomes para executar projetos relacionados à arquitetura e urbanismo, podemos também trazer doutores em Geografia para analisar o solo e o lençol freático que passa naquele lugar. Antes de tomar uma decisão é importante averiguar os fatos, pontos e contra-pontos com relação a construção do Hospital. A democracia se realiza pela vontade do povo e com o povo.
Finalizando, não posso deixar de falar um pouco sobre a questão do lixo em nossa cidade. Isso mesmo! Falar de novo em lixo; já que esse assunto é histórico no decorrer de vários governos. Mas, nós ambientalistas não podemos deixar de lado essa questão. Precisamos de projetos inovadores com relação a reciclagem do lixo, encaminhamento dos resíduos sólidos e um destino sério com relação ao lixo hospitalar. Enquanto educadora e mestre em Geografia, já participei de vários projetos sobre reciclagem e aproveitamento do lixo domiciliar na cidade de Uberaba e Uberlândia. Mas percebo que não adianta apenas construir projetos educacionais, precisamos é de um planejamento urbano em nível de macro sistema para que esse assunto seja executado com eficiência. Precisamos de envolvimento político, social e administrativo coerente. A conscientização começa na escola, mas tem que ser ampliada ao cidadão em forma de lei ou decreto. Penso que só assim poderemos fazer algo de melhor para a sustentação do planeta.
Aprender a não produzir lixo depende da educação ambiental que tivermos e a execução depende muito mais do que conscientização. O interesse de uma sociedade produzir menos lixo depende da união e ajuda de todos na construção de um mundo melhor. Por isso, acredito que ainda podemos fazer alguma coisa para nossa cidade. Acredito que ainda podemos melhorar o destino de nosso lixo que até hoje em sua maioria, infelizmente, é colocado em sacos plásticos com dejetos de todo tipo: desde restos de comida, papeis latas, plásticos, vidros, dentre outros. São poucas as pessoas que separam o lixo e dão destino ao reciclável.
Sendo assim, a cidade precisa de todos nós para que seu espaço seja reconstruído atendendo as necessidades emergências dos cidadãos. A luta de melhoria da qualidade de vida de Uberaba não depende apenas de uma pessoa, mas de todos os cidadãos que deveriam se unir mais em favor de nossa terra e do nosso espaço.
