Mais uma vez, Monte Verde aparece em destaque como um dos lugares mais frios do Brasil: a estação automática do INMET (Instituto Nacional de Meteorologia) registrou 2,7ºC negativos às 7 horas da manhã desta quarta-feira, dia 18. Foi a menor temperatura registrada neste dia em todo o país, e também a mais baixa do ano em Monte Verde até o momento.
Um dos mais famosos destinos de inverno do Brasil, a pequena vila mineira ganha atenção ainda maior nesta época do ano, graças às baixas temperaturas e aos constantes recordes de frio. No centro de Monte Verde os termômetros marcaram -3,0ºC; nas montanhas foram registradas temperaturas ainda menores, com ocorrência de geadas em vários pontos da região.
Uma grande massa de ar polar é a responsável pela queda das temperaturas em toda a região sudeste, em especial nas áreas serranas. Localizada na Serra da Mantiqueira, Monte Verde teve temperaturas bem abaixo de sua vizinha Campos do Jordão, onde a mínima foi de -0,8ºC (uma diferença de quase 2 graus).
A previsão para os próximos dias é de frio intenso, com queda acentuada das temperaturas durante a noite e formação de geada ao amanhecer.
