Uma massa de ar polar provocou a queda das temperaturas na região Sudeste, e na Serra da Mantiqueira a famosa Monte Verde bateu mais um recorde de frio: às 7 horas da manhã deste sábado, dia 7, a estação local do INMET (Instituto Nacional de Meteorologia) registrou a marca de -2,0ºC.

Este foi o dia mais frio do ano registrado na região até o momento. Localizada no sul de Minas Gerais e na divisa com São Paulo, Monte Verde teve temperaturas bem abaixo de outras cidades serranas próximas, como Campos do Jordão (1,4ºC) e Poços de Caldas (-1,0ºC) e Maria da Fé (2,0ºC).

De acordo com um estudo climático recente realizado pelo GUIA MONTE VERDE, durante o mês de agosto as médias costumam oscilar entre 20ºC durante o dia e 6ºC à noite, mas é bastante comum a ocorrência de temperaturas negativas e formação de geadas na região até o final do inverno, em setembro.
