Uma desvantagem do ácido hialurônico, segundo o médico, é que a molécula pode ser rapidamente absorvida. "Isso está sendo resolvido com a tecnologia cross-linking, uma técnica de engenharia molecular que aumenta a capacidade de retenção de água e dificulta a absorção, fazendo com que a durabilidade aumente. Mas mesmo assim sua vida útil não passa de 1,5 a 2 anos, no máximo."
E quanto às contraindicações? "Podemos citar infecções, sobretudo no local da aplicação e outros distúrbios correlatos", esclarece o cirurgião.
